If you want to order tickets during a pre-sale or even tickets during a public-onsale for a popular tour you might want to dig out that old ipad, spare iPhone or whatever old laptop you have and put it back into service as your second or even third screen for when you're purchasing your tickets. So some will ask: Why go through the hassle? Is it worth it for Hold Steady tickets? Easy: that's the annoying "Virtual waiting room". Basically by having a few different devices "line up"" in the queue-it ticket queue you get a significantly higher chance to buy tickets earlier and maybe get access to closer seating. To really put this process to work, you should have several different Ticketmaster accounts pre-registered and get them logged in on each device. Alternatively, you can also login with your account until after you get through the virtual queue. Fair warning: Don't login to the same account on multiple devices and join the queue on each one - you could get removed from several of the devices.
